Of all the races at the 2016 Breeders’ Cup, few–if any–will be more anticipated than the $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (gr. I) on November 4th, in which reigning Eclipse champions Songbird, Beholder, and Stellar Wind will face off in one of the greatest showdowns in the history of the Breeders’ Cup.
Joining the three champions are an impressive group of grade I winners that includes I’m a Chatterbox (winner of the Spinster Stakes last time out), Curalina (a romping winner of the La Troinne Stakes earlier this year), and Forever Unbridled (who scored a dominant victory in the Beldame Stakes).
The complete field for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff is as follows:
1 Songbird (Mike Smith)
2 Land Over Sea (Mario Gutierrez)
3 Curalina (John Velazquez)
4 Corona Del Inca (Falero)
5 Stellar Wind (Victor Espinoza)
6 Forever Unbridled (Joel Rosario)
7 I’m a Chatterbox (Florent Geroux)
8 Beholder (Gary Stevens)
