2014 Horse of the Year California Chrome, prepping for a two-race campaign in Dubai that will culminate with a run in the $10 million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I), turned in an impressive five-furlong workout on February 5th at Meydan.

According to a tweet from Taylor Made Farm, which owns a minority share in California Chrome, assistant trainer Alan Sherman was “very pleased” with California Chrome’s workout, in which the five-year-old son of Lucky Pulpit went the distance in a rapid :59 2/5 and galloped-out six furlongs in 1:12 2/5.

California Chrome’s first start of the season in Dubai is expected to come in a ten-furlong handicap race at Meydan on February 25th.
