Divisidero Faces Seven in Pennine Ridge Stakes

Divisidero, who won the American Turf Stakes (gr. II) on Derby day with an impressive homestretch rally, has been entered to race in the $200,000 Pennine Ridge Stakes on May 30th at Belmont Park.

Trained by William Bradley, Divisidero has won two of his three career starts, with his only defeat coming after a troubled trip in the Palm Beach Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park. A son of Kitten’s Joy, Divisidero’s spectacular turn-of-foot has earned him a reputation as one of the most promising turf horses in the country, and the Pennine Ridge Stakes will likely be a stepping stone to bigger and more prestigious races down the road, including the $1.25 million Belmont Derby (gr. I) on July 4th.

Divisidero will face seven rivals in the nine-furlong Pennine Ridge, including a trio from the barn of Chad Brown. Here are the entries:

PP/Horse/Jockey/Trainer
1 Rock Eagle, Rajiv Maragh, Barclay Tagg
2 Chief Kitten, John Velazquez, Chad Brown
3 Eh Cumpari, Luis Saez, Michel Dilger
4 Startup Nation, Joel Rosario, Chad Brown
5 World Approval, Julien Leparoux, Mark Casse
6 Takeover Target, Irad Ortiz Jr., Chad Brown
