Hi, Keelerman !. We are devoted to your class, your thoroughness and your blog(s) on Bloodhorse. Thanks as always, for your “take” on Saturday’s Santa Anita Gold Cup. I’m putting Finnegan’s Wake before Hoppertunity in my exotics, because somebody always gets in the mix of my trifectas and superfectas. Who knows if he will run well on dirt… Maybe I should seriously consider Hard Aces, as you suggest, to hit the board at a good price.

Thank you for the kind words, Susan Arthur! :) And thank you for starting a topic in the forums — you’re the first person (outside of myself!) to do so! :) I think you’ve got a good idea replacing Hoppertunity with Finnegans Wake — although Hoppertunity’s record at Santa Anita is good, I do remember Bob Baffert saying that Hoppertunity is much better at other tracks, so that’s something to keep in mind. Additionally, it’s been 1 1/2 years since Finnegans Wake last ran on dirt, and I think he’s improved a lot since then and might handle the surface better now. Best of luck tomorrow!

And in regards to the Gold Cup… well, your short blurb regarding Hard Aces brought me some bucks, and I thank you. You also gave me Page McKenney to “hit the board” in the Charles Town Classic. That brought me about $40 bucks. Thank you. My actual name appeared, thru my error, on my post… with all the ranters and stalkers on the ‘Net… I’ll keep it to Floridabred and start up some more topics.
