Rebel Stakes (gr. II) runner-up Madefromlucky, who passed on a potential start in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) last week, is among five horses that have been entered to run in the Peter Pan Stakes (gr. II) on May 9th at Belmont Park.
The nine-furlong race is a major prep for the June 6th Belmont Stakes (gr. I) and was won last year by Tonalist, who went on to score a narrow victory in the Belmont. Other prominent Peter Pan winners in recent years include Mark Valeski, Alternation, and Casino Drive.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Madefromlucky has drawn post two in the Peter Pan and will carry 116 pounds, four less than highweight Wolf Man Rocket. The latter colt, from the barn of Bob Baffert, finished second in his first two starts before winning the one-mile Northern Spur Stakes on April 11th at Oaklawn Park.
