Palace Malice Breezes Four Furlongs

Palace Malice Breezes Four Furlongs

2013 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Palace Malice breezed a half-mile in :49.22 at the Belmont Park training track this morning, his first workout since scratching from the May 2nd Westchester Handicap (gr. III) with a foot bruise.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Palace Malice is targeting a start in the June 6th Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) at Belmont, but will need to find a prep race beforehand in order to get ready for the race. Today’s workout was a major step in the right direction, indicating that the five-year-old son of Curlin has rebounded well from his setback. His breeze was the fifth-fastest of eighteen morning workouts at that distance.
