Great news! Shared Belief, the champion 2yo male of 2013 and a grade I winner each year since then, was out for training this morning for the first time since suffering a hip injury in April.

The son of Candy Ride was the early favorite for Horse of the Year honors after winning the San Antonio Stakes (gr. II) and Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) earlier this year, which brought his overall race record to 10-for-11. Unfortunately, the Jerry Hollendorfer-trained gelding was pulled up while attempting to win the Charles Town Oaks (gr. II) on April 18th, after which it was discovered that he had suffered a slight fracture in his hip.

Fortunately, Shared Belief has recovered well from his injury, and jogged lightly this morning on his first day back at the track. Jim Rome, co-owner of Shared Belief, shared a video on Twitter of his stable star in action:

Shared Belief is expected to return to the races either late this year or early next year.
